FREE-ELECTRON RADIATION ENGINEERING VIA STRUCTURED ENVIRONMENTS

Free-electron radiation results from the interaction between swift electrons and local electromagnetic environment. Recent advances in material technologies provide powerful tools to control light emission free may facilitate many intriguing applications of free-electron particle detections, lasers, quantum information processing, etc. Here, we a brief overview on recent theoretical developments experimental observations spontaneous various structured environments, including two-dimensional materials, metasurfaces, metamaterials, photonic crystals. We also report research progresses stimulated that quasi-particles induced by external field. Moreover, an outlook potential directions for this vigorous realm radiation.
